I don’t know where to start. I really tried not to watch another Tyler Perry ‘emotional overload’ shitshow, which is why I am only just watching, but hey, I fell for it again🥴 The entire story is ‘hair tearing’ bad. I wanted to beat the writer and I am not a violent person. 1. Money was discovered moved through Grace’s account by her employer and she was fired on the spot? No investigation, suspension, nothing? 🤷🏿♀️2. She discovered with the aid of a CCTV footage that her new husband had taken out a mortgage on her house without her consent and when she reported to the police, she was told it is a civil matter? Fraud is a civil matter? Especially fraud that is tied to a bigger fraud that bank’s money is involved. All that just swept under the carpet? 3. She kept telling him she would be prosecuted if he didn’t return the money, but she didn’t think to go to the police to report that he is the one that stole from her employers, not her? I mean, if you are being investigated for fraud, surely, you would be able to tell the investigators what happened and they can then follow the money trail? 4. Then she beats him with a baseball bat numerous times and he somewhat survived that, even though she was sure he died (how was she so sure?). 5. No body and a withdrawn confession, but prosecutors felt confident enough to go to trial and ask for the maximum sentence? 6. Jasmine isn’t a lawyer, she is an atrocity that should never have been written into existence by any fictional writer. I am convinced Tyler Perry makes his career women characters dumb in some way, deliberately. It is either they are making woeful career ending decisions or making abysmal relationship choices. They cannot win. It is ridiculous at this point. Why do you need to prove good character when you have not even put up any defence for your client. What was her defence? Her defence was that Grace was too nice, too good, too sweet to swing a bat? And she intends to prove that by having her friend take the stand? No defence of provocation to maybe reduce the charge to manslaughter? No ‘no body, no case’, they just had an altercation and he disappeared after defrauding her and her former employer, so he has plenty incentives to disappear? No temporary insanity plea? Nothing, just vibes and idiotic petulance. Saying I hate this movie is an understatement. Don’t let me even get started on how Grace fell for that cheeseball, there is no point. 🎤
