One word describes this book....CRUEL.

I do not understand all the praise for this book. I read a book at one sitting normally, but I could not read more than one chapter at a time, I found it so awful. I am only giving it one star because I have to, so that it will post.

I did not enjoy this book. The only reason I finished it was for a reading challenge list at the library. The book did not have a single likable character. Although the book is set in the 90's, the men treat their wives like they are in the 50's and the they are OK with it. The kids are horrible, especially the youngest. He's a little Hitler in the making and this is OK to his parents. This is not really a vampire book, but there is a monster.
