Superintendent of police, Shivani Shivaji Roy (Rani Mukerji) is out to capture a criminal (Vishal Jethwa) who rapes young women in a fit of rage before cruelly murdering them.Its a 2 days chase story of Shivani and her nemesis .This movie shows misogyny, toxic masculinity ,woman safety,gender inequality .Thankfully there are no unnecessary bollywood songs although they could have kept them.They made it very sure the film should be as serious as its message .Girls wanting to study or go out ,work and speaking their mind out shouldn't be the excuse to molest them.You'll have to keep aside the facts that how can a teenage gully boy can break into the house of a superintendent, threaten a minister and other facts ,get their contacts etc etc.Its not the most realistic film out there but its definitely entertaining.Vishal Jethwa did a terrific job at being the sadistic psycopath whocan go to any length to satisfy his urge.He has a lot of potential in future films escpicially performing such layered characters.Rani mukherjee outshined as a cop. Her 5 mins monolgue was excellent no doubt about it but it felt forced just like some of her other dialogues and there was no depth to that scene .They could have showed debate just like in the live tv shows.It would have added been more realisim to it.There are no intelligent twists and turns nor much surprising element yet the whole film is thrilling.The ending was pretty well handled, no long speeches but the cop belt lashing over the villain even we can feel our blood boil at that scene and when she finally lets all the pain and trauma she suffered while going through the mission after her victory.Ill give it a 4/5

Chappak is a crisp ,engaging story of an acid survivor named malti agarwal.The movie is not totally immersive but yet it has been plotted in a systematic way with events happening in proper chronology. . Dialogues were good but there werent much of them.Its not a typical bollywood masala movie loaded with several songs or tear jerking scenes but with an evocative title song and a clear straightforward message.Awesome producing, direction was good yet story wasnt much intense which makes one a bit bored at few moments also the first half was dull but the events catched its pace later on.The story was definitely touching but imo you dont leave much stunned after watching the film but you do accept that there are acid attacks happening around our country and severe action must taken agaisnt those black-hearted criminals.The lawyer I felt was lacking the gravity of the situation. Acid attack is a heinous case and there are 1000s of acid attack cases with different stories so they could have depicted the many other reasons as to why acid attacks happen in our country. There were several questions to ponder after watching this movie one of them was is 10 years justified punishment for destroying someone's face and life permentanly.The cast was great ,no doubt about deepikas natural acting as well as Vikrant Massey played did an excellent role playing a persistent,focused man with a cause.The crime is indeed serious so a movie had to be made casting a superstar in it.Ill give it 3.5/5.
