I enjoyed the game very much but I don’t think its for everyone. The writing deep dives into many diverse topics – biology, forensic science, psychology, and political science to name a few. Add to that complicated history lessons, conspiracy theories, and lots of red herrings. I felt that it could have been leaner. The hard-drinker with amnesia trying to solve the murder while also trying to solve the mystery of himself seems like a trope but I got past it and you will too. Having said all that, the game has some truly beautiful moments. There is one scene that brought to mind the train ride in “Spirited Away” and it served the same purpose: a quiet pause before the show wraps up. I look forward to my next play-through.
