As someone who watched the movie, here is a target score, i gave an extra star just for the sake that this was better than Varisu. But you know that this is just the copy of Jailer, where Rajni's son comes to kill his father for trying to stop a major drug robbery. While in this contradiction, Vijay is out here trying to stop his so-lost son from doing damage via terrorism. He did not stay contact with his son for 10 years. 10 FUCKING YEARS, and all of a sudden he expects his son will believe whatever he said? Just satirical. Graphics are like Adipurush, especially face changing parts and action scenes. Not a single cameo of Dhoni in the end, as per what rumors spread, but that's not why the rating is low ( i don't watch sports). However Siva Karthikeyan did appear in the movie, that too in the end. Too much of external movie references which makes you feel that this movie is just a TRP show and nothing much. Vijay tried his best acting really better, but they gave a boring storyline to smoothen the sharp ends. That's kind 'a sad, since that's not what happened here. In the end, call me a Vijay hater, but if you just think having more references of other movies like Mankatha and other movies in a movie won't make it great to watch. Try to reconsider better story and not just references to gain popularity.

The thing with movies like this is that some bring the truth of what most of us and other western countries donto survive and live a healthy prosperous life new somewhere else. Dunki is one such example. No over acting. No exaggerations. No strong nudity/sexual content. Just the life depicted by a group of villagers whose life changes after a westerner/ outsider arrives and gives them and alternate route to escape a harsh reality. Not just India, but also westerners in Philippines and Palestine survivors/refugees try to escape the financial/war crisis so they could be free of problems and live a new life. It's not the best movie anyone can come up with, at the same time it's not possible to be the worst one either. Rules of most countries are rarely peaceful like in this movie. It's common to either shoot, but not possible to have stuff like illegal immigration when every corner of Dubai is monitoring every part of city like a hawk. Eitherways it's not a huge disappointment not it's a bad one. Enjoyed the friendship of the stars in it. 4.2 out of 5.
