Wonderful, Wonderful book. It is incredibly well researched and so true to the era. The voices and stories of my forebears who lived during the time described,echoed in my head again and again. Pip Williams has made the characters in this book so personal to this reader that they will live in my memory for a very long time. I enjoyed her previous book ,’ The Dictionary of Lost Words’, but this book I loved. Thank you Pip.
