Having read this book as a child and loving it, having my own children read it with a similar reaction to it, and now, with the added perspective of a child clinical psychologist with 45+ years of experience, I heartily recommend this book for its content and clarity regarding how a child can conquer adversity and enjoy the loyalty of a four-legged companion/guardian. Soon my grandson will also read it and hopefully be equally enthralled with it
