Rebel Moons is mediocre at best. The CGI is nothing special given what can be done nowadays. Netflix certainly ticked all the diversity boxes (to me it seems that was the priority in the casting), the acting was very weak or perhaps it was just a bad producer. The story line seems to follow the magnificent seven/seven samurai theme set in the future but does an incredibly poor job at it. The entire 2 hour+ of part one seems to be introducing us to the main characters but in the end leaves us not caring about any of them. Whilst i am sure that many of those born in the current century may enjoy this, for someone such as myself who was bought up on Star Wars, Dune, the Matrix, Alien, Terminator, The 5th Element etc which all had fabulous stories behind them, that drew you in and made you care, Rebel Moon was 1.5 out 5 for me.
