I have read the article and quite a few reviews here and can tell you alot of people do not know much about solar panels than what a salesman has told them or what they have read on the internet that has been written by a Greenie.
I am an 55 year old electrical engineer that has been designing electrical systems for over 30 years and can assure not that much has changed in solar or renewable power sources since it all started.
Facts.
Solar panels operate at good efficiency for around 5-10 years depending on the brand, and then the efficiency drops off to the point when it is better to replace with new. (and the new one get slightly, and I mean very slightly more efficient, but do not last longer). This is for a number of reasons. Mass production in C.
Wind farms are notoriously expensive for more than just the parts. Roads access alone can cause be a huge cost and environmental disaster as they are usually built a on hilltops a good distance away from suburbia . They are very high maintenance and unreliable. And do not last long.
Biomass (woodchip) ?? What a waste of wood. I am just going to say you would be so much better off just using gas
