I was given this film by a friend who knows I love tearjerkers and warned to have a box of tissues handy. But it absolutely did nothing for me whatsoever. Found the two lead characters quite irritating and with no chemistry at all. Gena Rowlands as the young girl now old and suffering dementia looked like an aged barby doll. I usually pass on dvds to charity but wouldn't wish to inflict this on anyone else so it'll probably gather dust on top of my bookcase.

Great acting as usual by Naomi Watts and Andrew Lincoln. Having experienced raising a wild duck and having her come and say goodbye before finally flying off, this part of the film with the magpie was totally believable and poignant. I loved this film.
