This movie is absolutely dreadful. Trying to adapt Jane Austen's beautiful novel to less than 2 hours means that nothing really makes any sense. All utterly implausible and silly. I was so exasperated watching it. The performances are excellent. But this adaptation needed time for the characters to develop so we iunderstood what was going on. Modernising this, Bridgerton style, was diminishing and insulting to the original. Jane Austen must be turning in her grave! SSylr is
