Edward Cummings

It's 2 1/2 stars, just OK. It's hard not to compare this to Zodiac (2007), and Keira Knightly simply isn't as compelling as Jake Gyllenhaal when portraying obsession. I'm also not sure why she's obsessed. Coon is a more intriguing character who uses the system to her advantage and is more practical or experienced, but there's also a problem because Coon is not in the film much. Story is slow and lacks some focus--I do agree that the cinematography is dark and murky--though the story does improve in the third act. But I'd rewatch Zodiac in a heartbeat instead.
