People only know how to complain and moan about every aspect of an adaptation. Go and file a complaint to Gene Yang who wrote the story and stop whining about the show as a whole. It was a cringe fest at times and certain parts didn’t make sense but it was not bad at all. Thoroughly enjoyable watch and a good binge for all those who like to watch light hearted and coming of age series. I noticed a few reviewers felt that the Asian representation was not accurate in reality and thought that it was too overly dramatic but it was done well. Not everyone has the same experience with being mistreated or marginalised for being Asian but I felt as if the show really reminded the audience what it’s like trying to live as a minority. Again, I’m not saying the show was perfect but if you want to complain go and speak to the cast or even the creators because at the end of the day they read the script and agreed to be involved with the whole project. ABC deserves all the praise.
