As someone who holds pjo dear to me and would be gutted if the show didn’t hold up, I’m floored and so happy in every way. I’ve read and re-read the series several times from childhood into adulthood, and I am NOT disappointed.
The casting is wonderful, and minor changes don’t at all disrupt the integrity of the character. It’s so believable that these actors ARE the characters—it’s such an authentic feel that is hard to accomplish.
Some plot details were left out in the translation of book to screen, which is reasonable, and it was nothing that I found worth harping over. The main storyline is there, the character’s personalities shine through, and the show captures the relationship between Percy and his mother just as well as the books do. The cast and crew has already done a fantastic job, and I cannot express how excited I am to see the rest of the season.
As a seasoned fan, this is a refreshing, yet accurate take on the story. I feel like I’m 12 again. I’m so happy. Please don’t listen to the people who are afraid of any change.
