In short: Big lizard and monkey team up to fight other monkey and big lizard Grade: B 7/10 It was fun and had an esthetic that reminded me of the loud kaiju films of my childhood. A good film all around, not exactly ground breaking, but it was entertaining. This time the monsters took up most of the screen time and that’s probably for the best. I think too many critics are watching this and wanting it to be some sort of art film. Were we expecting a movie named Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire, the sequel to Godzilla vs Kong, to be a criticism of systemic poverty or perhaps maybe a satire of American capitalism? Joking aside, if you don’t like the film, that’s fine. No hate here, I'm just here for the monster fights.
