We thought Phoenix did an ok job as a self absorbed military leader. But the movie couldn’t find its lane … is it a war movie? A love story? Falls so short on all accounts. It had a grey feel but maybe that’s just an indication of period piece. I thought Napoleon and Josephine has an epic love story. But it didn’t come through as anything more than her trying to humour him but comes across as disdain. Waaaaaaaayyyy too long. Lost me in the first 30 minutes.only bright spot was popcorn for supper
