this book had a very interesting premise, and although cringe at times, i do think its worth reading. i appreciate that although it follows the typical fantasy recipe (normal girl finds out she has special powers, etc etc) it does stray from that recipe by the end. people say that its man-hating or whatever but like i feel like thats the point? the mc isnt supposed to be super likable she supposed to be violent and vengeful because of how shes been treated in the violent patriarchal society she lives in. one note i did have here is that throughout the book there isnt another strong female character that truly realizes their own oppression,,, like im not asking for much, even if its just a small side character that dies soon after introduction. i just found it weird that there were multiple men are sympathetic to womens plight in this society but literally one woman. the ending was a bit confusing but like thats not anything new to the fantasy genre. i cant wait for the sequel to come out, though i do hope to find more than one (1) strong woman in it lol
