Loved it!!! Praises to Beyonce for this masterpiece.
She took us on a journey from the Motherland as our ancestors started off, she explored our lost history and culture of Yoruba/Ifa faith. She talked about God dwelling within us which makes us Gods in body as He is within us. She talked about faith and how to look up to the sky. She captured Goddesses Hathor, Oshun, Yemaya/Meri/Mary/Auset the Virgin Mother, Oya, and one of the songs referenced Ogun.
Jay-Z captured Shango etc. She conveyed how we are powerful beyond measure and can achieve our greatest excellence. She showed how the universe and everything in it is tied together through the circle of life and how we should respect everything with life. She showed us some of the most beautiful images of Mother Nature from waterfalls, to deserts, stars, sunsets, oceans, lakes and rivers.
Her clothes were majestic and beautiful. She emulated all that black women represent with femininity, grace, strength, courage, love and power. She made you question things you were taught and open your mind to the belief that there is something greater than us and we are apart of that greatness and to search your truth don't buy the lies society and the media has told us for centuries.
She made us feel significant and seen as black people. She made us proud of our melanin rich black skin and coily hair that can be straightened, coily, curly, and braided. She blessed the body and showed body and made us proud of our curves and thickness. She showed how African American and African music and culture is so tightly coiled together that we are one in the same just different locations of the same people.
She dared us to remember who we are and search within. She encouraged us to find our way back home to ourselves. She reminded us that life is our birthright and the fancy dinner party her, Tina, Kelly, Blue Ivy etc had was lavish and showed a rich life of luxury they represented Black Excellence and Black Royalty. I loved everything about Black Is King, the music, the fashion, the dancers, the other artist, the paying homage to the ancestors, the beauty of nature, the message. She spoke some Yoruba in her music, she is in a lane all by herself, she is the baddest chick in the game. I've been a fan, but this right here!!!!
Excellent work Queen Bey. All hail to the queen. I hope to see more of this in the near future. Beyonce and Jay-Z (Sean Carter) are truly trendsetters, history makers and are making music and movies that make us proud to be black and proud to be alive. Thanks Beyonce and thanks Disney+ I am forever a super fan. Beyonce keeps getting better and better with time like a fine wine!!! Everyone Black all across the diaspora should watch and support Black Is King, and of course other nationalities and races too, but if you're of African ancestry whether it be African, African American, Afro Cuban, Afro Brazilian,Afro-Colombian, Afro-PuertoRican, Caribbean West Indian, Black Indian etc with ancestors from the Mother Land..... it's a must that you watch this one.
