I read this book when it was first published in 1969 and used it as a source for my teaching of Canadian history. That lasted for thirty three years. It was a great resource, full of relevant, useful information, well-organized and well-written.

Dull but accurate. Repetitive - gives us the story then repeats the beginning as if we've already forgotten it. Get on with it!
