Frankly I’m shocked this film isn’t doing better at the Box office. It’s one of the most fascinating and well-made films that I have seen in a long time and I heartily recommend it.
The director took his time developing the story, tracing the roots of George’s anger and miraculous success at the Olympics (after only one year of boxing!) to his meteoric rise in the heavy weight class and world-wide fame.
The subjects of poverty, opportunity and faith are all covered in vivid detail, and George’s life is an inspiring testimony to the truth that the circumstance of your birth don’t have to determine your future.
I loved this film from the opening scene to the final credits and hope others will give it a chance.
