The movie “Elvis” is a must see! I was twelve years old when my parents took me to an Elvis concert. It was towards the end of his career but I remembered how thrilled I was to see him perform live. Fifty three years later, I can still remember the red hot pants outfit I wore to that concert. In this film, Austin Butler captures Elvis the man and his torment and manipulation by his manager. I learned some facts I never knew about his life from the film as well. With a heart wrenching end I was reminded of the day I learned Elvis had passed. I had just given birth to my son and on 8/16/77 I brought him home from the hospital and learned Elvis had died. What really struck me from the film was that Elvis thought he had failed to achieve true greatness. To date Elvis will always be the King and ground breaker for all the entertainers that came after him. I guess you can say that is pretty GREAT!
