As a huge fan of the book, I was disappointed by the massive amount of the story that was left out of the movie. It just felt extremely rushed and forced. I understand it’s Hollywood and things are portrayed in a different light, and that time is money, but the overall message of the story seemed tainted and dull compared to its origin. If I had not read the book, I’m not sure I would’ve been able to piece some of the movie together, rather I may have just thought of its conflict like most romance movies. Most of the actors were casted very well, while there were a few who I felt lacked the characteristics and energy of their role. I really wanted to love this film.
