Funny boy- Deepa Mehta is a funny woman for thinking she could get away with making such a racist film. A tamil film with no Tamil actors. A tamil film with tamil that doesn’t even sound like tamil. A Sinhalese cast who killed the tamil language. I mean how hard is it to get the accent right. The minimum you could have done is get tamil people to do dubbing for the awful tamil spoken by the actors. They couldn’t because it means working with more tamil people which Deepa Mehta is very uncomfortable with. Also, because they had to insult the language and it’s people. This film couldn’t get the basics ,like language, right. Therefore, I don’t understand how the Canadian officials thought it was a good idea to send this film to the oscars. Big disappointment for the Canadian tamil people and Eelam Tamils around the world.
