Haven't we LEARNED anything? There are always unintended consequences. The deep sea mining for rare earth elements will at the very least destroy much sea life that we know or don't know of at the present. More likely, it could be one of the "last straws" that finely turn our vast and once beautiful oceans into a lifeless garbage patch!
