Good characters, stuck to story line but was depressing....not anything uplifting just FYI

I was hesitant to read this with such mixed reviews. Finally read it at the beach and loved it could not put it down. It was just the right speed just interesting enough to keep you moving forward very intriguing characters and content - oh and a great ending... Did not make your brain hurt trying to keep up with the characters, complex plots or excessive twists and turns. It was a great poolside or beachside read especially if you are a lover of the South. I'm actually going to read it again.
