Im a huge Mechwarrior Online Player. And just got Mw5 last night. Over the years I became a huge Battletech fan. And as for MW5 so far from a new player perspective. even though it's mainly single player. Campaign stuff. Its really neat. If your into Battletech and Mechwarrior like really into it. And your not a clanner then this game is just down right fun. Mechanics little different than MWO. But similar. The Look is the same since its PGI. So that made it awesome since I'm used to that already. But its polished nicely. Graphics are great. Even on low if you must it's nice. If your bored of campaign there is a quick play instant action mode where you choose any mech you want. Load it up with whatever you can fit. And even take other pilots with you. You can choose the map the layout. The enemy faction. Weather. The difficulty . I went from difficulty 5 which was for noobs. And Turned it up to only 25. And it was hard as hell. But entertaining.
I havnt got too deep in yet but what I'm seeing is promising. When your on the campaign. You have to pay for your mechs repair. If you play smart and not reckless it might not cost alot w he n you get back. But you also get to haggle the proce of contracts and how much salvage you get per mission. Your mechs also take time real time to repair. Some mechs may only take 4 in game days to repair. Unless its damaged badly. Then it could take up to 29 days or more. Yout choices matter when it comes to keeping your mech fresh. I look forward to see what other things I find in this game. If your into mechs and fully destructible building and stuff it's fun. I like to get into the story and pretend I'm really there. I'm really on this ship or I'm really in this mech factory. Do I want to take the ole javelin for a spin. Or should I let it finish repairing and take out the other mech. Salvaging stuff is fun especially if you need say an AC20 for one of your mechs. If you dont have one then it's awesome. Idk what to expect but I'm sure there are lots of fun things. 5 stars so far.
