I'm confused by people saying they're fans of the series, but upset that people get fatally wounded and survived?... Rewatch all of them, that happens in all of them, and absurd/meta humor is integral to the series.
This was the best one since the original. My husband and I rewatched all the other 5 the last few weeks, so we were fresh from them. This one embraces that it's continuing the franchise from the "requel."
I could understand a complaint from die hard fans being that it didn't focus enough on the meta aspects, beyond the paraphernalia in the theater. But! I think that's perfect to set up for a new set of Scream movies. It felt like the original did: meta about ITSELF rather than the sequels' obsession with the Stab movies.
Regardless to complaint about "biologically impossible" survivals is hilarious lol. Just admit you wanted to dislike the movie, or you haven't rewatched the other Screams in years. Cuz that's par for the course
Great movie whether or not you're a big fan, watch it! Simple fun slasher thriller with the usual Scream whodunit and meta humor/comedy aspects.
