I did not understand the point if there was one. The movie is slow and dry. The ending makes the movie worse. Who is going to be drugged by their kid, stuck in a hole for days/weeks, given limited food and water, released by the kid, and then the next scene is the family just sitting at the dinner table enjoying a meal as if nothing happened? There is a second storyline of a woman leaving her 12 year old daughter. These few short scenes don't appear to contribute or tie into the film in anyway. Wish I had my 1.5 hour back.
