I can see from looking at the other comments of plenty of people have not liked this movie. It was uncomfortable, it was awkward, the atmosphere was oppressive, and it was very confusing. That’s the sort of thing I happen to like. Not every movie has to be making all kinds of sense, dishing out plots, and serving dialogue like a well laid dinner. and sometimes I don’t want them to. And although the movie never let up with the constant heaviness, none of the people individually appeared to be particularly frightening. It’s an uncomfortable movie because it speaks of the inevitability of deteriorating through time, of finding yourself not yourself, simply because you’re always getting older, always declining, plagued by innumerable regrets with no chance to correct them. The movie feels like it is focused on the relentless confusion of random events that plague our lives. There is a condensing here, a packing of squirming uncomfortable moments of life. If you can bear existential crisis, you might like this movie. And if you didn’t like it, I totally understand. This movie is not for everyone. But it was right up my alley.
