This is a fantastic sci-fi thriller and one of the best films I've seen in a while. Bong Joon-Ho, to me, is certainly one of the best directors in the game right now. His films are original and very well executed. I especially liked Snowpiercer because it showcases some very harsh socio-economic barriers (that aren't much unlike the world we live in today), and the brutal extremes a human can resort to in order to survive. I don't consider this film to be exactly "subtle", on the contrary it is quite apparent since the beginning what the movie is really about and yet it still manages to have many unexpected moments that often had me pause the movie in order to process what had just happened. Overall, it's a really good film and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys cinema.
