I totally love the movie!! Exactly as expected, I enjoy so much learning(as I put myself in their shoes) about the ways of life, how everything was so harsh, crude and untamed!! The everyday life of these frontiersmen was delightfully depicted, it shows how raw things were and how difficult it was to survive under any circumstance. The way you go about getting yourself a partner, whether you were a 5 day old widow or a young never married 20 yr old, by the day's standards you had to have a man to feel some sort of protection. Miles long chuckwagons carrying all these families and individuals hungry for a better life or a new beginning!! Weather inclemencies and the local tribes made it that much more difficult, it is hard not to immerse yourself into the movie. 3 hours?? I wish it was 9 or more hours!! Hats off to Kevin Costner and Co.
