Too different from the source material. It is an adaptation, but its source material was rich and detailed. The show creates very mature scenes to "hook" viewers Game of thrones style, but could have waited to build into it as the later story has much sex and debauchery as the characters mature and bad guys are revealed. The Matt character especially was butchered, which is sad as he is a favorite character many. I couldn't make it past episode 4 and I really tried. Having Lan the warder cry like a baby when is he is supposed to be a rock with little emotions (he even bottled it up when people much closer to him died in the book) was the last I could take. Don't watch if you loved the books or if you do, just think of it as a different reality with the characters being vastly different than remembered.
