Loved this show. I don't think I have seen such a vulnerable performance. It takes a lot of courage to talk about your own shame, especially in this current era of blaming everyone but yourself. I cried. Great story and acting, binge-worthy.

What a wonderful movie! A classic. I have seen it twice and will see it once a year for the rest of my life. It feels so good. The cast is superb, the dialogue honest and at times hilarious. The soundtrack is excellent. I have downloaded it. Beautifully shot with style. I love everything about this movie; the story-telling, acting and directing. Brilliant. Great holiday movie. Paul Giamatti gives a wonderful performance as the curmudgeon professor stuck in a job, living his life through the classics, knowing the right way to live, and teaching it but not living it for himself till the end. Da'Vine Joy Randolph gives a heart-rending performance as a bereaved mother. Another character-driven gem from Alexander Payne.

Awful. I didn't connect with any of the characters, Banal dialogue. scenes where you knew what was going to happen, i.e. how they would get out of trouble, who would be shot next, who would die. So a big yawn fest. I did not buy the character of the newbie reporter at all. So I couldn't get into the story. And she looked so young, it was creepy when the older reporter was hitting on her. I get we are supposed to be witnessing the horror of war through her 'innocent' eyes. There were no story arcs, except maybe the newbie being a worse character at the end than she was at the beginning because now she had mastered the art of ignoring pain, suffering and death to take the best photos, in black and white, on film. Who does she sell 'em to? Where does she buy that film in a country at war? What if she had made the decision at the end NOT to photograph the grisly stuff and to give someone CPR instead? This was not a movie about modern civil war in the USA. I realize a lot of people worked very hard on this movie but the script/'story-telling' was lazy.

Interesting. I didn't know much about the topic. Good cinematography. But a movie about a nun with no praying, no mention of Jesus and no rosary? Absurd and disrespecful. The director said he couldn't include everything. What a lame excuse. It was 2 hrs and 25 mins. We know a scene can be as short as you like. Are we meant to believe it was all her innate and inner strength and she never relied on her faith? Unbloodylikely.
