Was I the only person extremely underwhelmed by the 'interview' Jon Snow conducted with Sir David Attenborough last night? It went on for 8mins and covered important topics like 'have you had the jab yet?', 'what do you make of the anti-vaxxers?' and 'how did you feel after your jab?'. Apparently, the actual topic was the Dasgupta Review published yesterday into 'The Economics of Biodiversity'. this is a quite important topic, given the mass extinction of biodiversity we're witnessing and indeed are all contributing to. Could C4 have tried a bit harder to get an interview with Professor Sir Partha Dasgupta or if not him, then one of the other eminent members of his Review Panel? To spend the full 8 minutes, after quoting Prince Charles (that well-known environmental economist) at the outset, and then only speaking to a 'national treasure' in the vein of two chaps enjoying a pint in the summer sun (if only!), seems to me to have wholly missed the opportunity to engage meaningfully with this crucial topic.
