As a student studying psychology, both Inside Out movies are great representation of what it might look like to be inside someone else's mind.
I personally am interested in becoming a mental health therapist, focusing on IFS (internal family systems). This theory explains that there are different parts inside of us, all trying to protect us in different ways. I really appreciated the part where anxiety said that "I was just trying to protect Riley." That almost made me start sobbing. Sometimes, the mental health issues that we struggle the most with are the things that are just trying to help us in the way they know how.
Music was great, just like the first movie. The main theme gets me every time.
Representation was well done, not too pushy. At one point, there's a blind man walking down the street, but I barely noticed it. I think it is crucial to portray diversity in this way: normal.
I also loved the art style and the artistic choices that were made. The scene where Riley has an anxiety attack, I felt like it matched exactly what I have felt before. The rushing around with the static. The chaos that causes uncontrollable thoughts. Everything was done perfect.
Solid movie! Would recommend!
