People need to recognize the issues with this book is that it illustrates graphic details, and maybe a little girl shouldn’t have so much of her diary and intimate thoughts published to preteens and middle schoolers. There is plenty of added material relatively accurate to her diary proper. I don’t want any more details out of her diary than I have to know for getting a passing grade. I’m not for banning it, but no child should be required to read this until they feel like they are up for a difficult, graphic, sad, terrifying experience to those empathetic people out there.
