I just saw the movie and loved it. I’m glad I didn’t read the “professional “ reviews first and now that I have, I disagree with their high brow, self important criticism. The movie captures the essence of Whitney’s tortured relationship with herself, her family and her fame. And the commoditization of stardom. It celebrates a magnificent, once in a generation, voice that was much more powerful and mature than the woman who never had the opportunity to become its rightful owner. Whitney’s life was tragic which the movie portrays but the rightful focus of the movie is on the incredible talent she had and the gift she made of it to all of us. Go see it!!
