Dark, disturbing and a detrimental description of modern life’s many dilemmas. Movie madness reflecting daily mental illness. A fine portrait by Phoenix and a subtle performance by de Niro. A little comic strip in places but on the whole, a very watchable film, somehow moving you on just in the moment of cringe or uncomfortable-ness. A worthy Oscar winner too. Go watch it!
