One of the great gay or heterosexual love stories ever Poignant and inspiring Doesn’t shove the gay side down your throat - it’s just the aside to a love story but it’s real and it’s powerful and it’s what a lot of gay people went through back in the 60’s and 70’s It wasn’t safe to be out and gay in those times- it touches on the coach’s insecurities and Billy’s stubbornness to be out and freely gay Great book - made me cry and laugh My only downside was the end but lots of people liked the ending Just read it Great novel Wish they had made it into a movie but apparently got caught up in the politics of hollywood sadly Great story Read it and enjoy
