Call Jane showed up in my streaming feed this afternoon while looking for something light to watch while stuffed up with a doozy of a cold. I knew nothing of the movie, but when I saw both Sigourney Weaver and Elizabeth Bank named on the intro, I was in. I LOVED the movie, I was actually 'Wowed' by the storyline and the actors and reminded that, as a Canadian woman, abortion is part of womens' healthcare here in Canada, but not so for many women in the US. It is beyond absurd that government would have any control over womens' personal medical decisions. I was reminded, however, that Canada's own Conservative politicians also want to mess with womens' reproductive rights, so we must also be on guard. EVERYONE should watch this movie. It is easy to follow and the message is simple but so profoundly important, and often a matter of life and death. Abortion is not for everyone, granted, but if ever the need arises, this healthcare should not end up putting anyone in prison, or when denied, COST ANY WOMAN HER LIFE OR REPRODUCTIVE FUTURE. p.s. With the looming US election in about six weeks, this movie should show up in every possible streaming feed and movie recommendations list.
