Definitely didn't live up to the hype! I was excited to see this movie and waited months in anticipation, but ultimately left the theater disappointed. The story showed promise, but lost its meaning and ended up with too many plots holes for me to get over. The element of fear was missing from this "horror" movie. I think the directors went WAY overboard trying to make a political statement and lacked any subtlety in making it. It felt forced to be honest. The first Candyman was LEVELS above this remake which is unfortunate because this film had so much potential. 2 stars because some of the visuals were amazing and I was still entertained at least for the first 30 minutes or so.
