If this movie was set in another country/city, it would have never received the attention it did. It was boring, the characters lacked depth, and the boy coming-of-age theme through sex was predictable and unsatisfactory. It this was based on real events, sorry to tell the writer(s).. your life is just not that interesting. We all have crazy family, feel misunderstood, etc, etc. The main topic of empathy was superficially explored and didn't make me question my own reality (isn't that what movies are for after all?) The cinematography was good, but other than that, nothing great here.
