When it starts with the words “Part One” it sets the scene for the disappointment to come. I was looking for escapism and drama, but found long winded politics and foreign history/geography/language lessons I wasn’t interested in instead. Oh the scenery and special effects were there, but the mumbling and face coverings (hadn’t we had enough of those already?) and the knowing that there would be no answers, only questions, til Part Two turns up made it like watching tumbleweed across a sandy stretch of land. It certainly TRIES to impress. But when I found myself looking at how long was left to watch - several times - it was a relief when it finished. Still, I enjoyed the “ooh what have I seen them in before?” game and Jason Mamoa (?) brought, well, himself which was nice for a while.
