The story was needlessly complex and the characters wildely inaccurate. The plot from the first book could have been followed and it would have been far more entertaining and far more cohesive. The plot choices here make no sense and cheapen the story. I don't think I've ever seen a worse adaptation, especially when following closer to the original would have been far easier.
