I’ll never understand why these directors would even take the risk of completely ignoring everything about the games. They even admitted it themselves. You can deviate from the game and make an acceptable show. That’s NOT the point The opportunity of making a generational work that’s been wasted. It’s literally a layup. Halo 1-3 were all record break pieces of media. Truly great stories are few and far between... Take Game of Thrones for example. One of the greatest shows in history. Why? Because they stuck to the book. Problem was they ran out of material and had to finish it themselves. The last 2 seasons are viewed as subpar by the general public and that’s being kind. Why? Because everyone now understood the potential of the story and wouldn’t accept weak plots. The reason non-gamers don’t see an issue with this TV show is because you don’t have anything to compare it to. Part of me is jealous that you have that but more of me is sad you aren’t able to experience it.
