My 9 year old loves Sonic, so I had to take him to the movie. To my surprise, I loved it! Sonic is lovable and wittingly funny. It's modern with lots of action too. Like Marvel, there is a bonus scene at the end, so stick around. I think there is going to be a Sonic 2.
