For about half the movie I wasn’t sure whether it was supposed to be a comedy or not, but even the cum constantly oozing out of the light sockets in the house wasn’t funny enough to distract me from the incredibly poor acting and butchering of what could have been an interesting movie.
The idea was kind of cool but they didn’t explore it deeply enough. Instead they used every single horror movie trope which was distracting and hard to follow. Most of the characters were unlikeable except Milo who is killed off early. The protagonist Don is possibly one of the worst actors I have ever watched in my life and I spent most of the movie waiting for him to die. Most of the women are presented in a hyper sexual way, and we’re barely told anything about them or their backgrounds.
Often the camera would linger for a long time on a certain scene or someone’s face, which was distracting because it never ends up being for a significant reason. It’s like they’re trying to imbue all this symbolism into the film but forgot what the plot was?
There are a few other annoying discrepancies in the film, such as when the pastor pronounces the couple’s last name Koch like “Coke” at the beginning and then inexplicably changes to “Kosh”; another distracting thing that has nothing to do with the plot.
I would say don’t watch this film but it’s actually kind of impressive that something this ridiculous got through so many levels of approval. It’s almost worth watching to say you’ve seen the worst movie ever made.
