For all the hate I saw this show receiving — and as someone who would describe themselves as simply a casual Star Wars fan — I was prepared for the worst, and pleasantly surprised. I think this show provided depth, and as some are saying even bringing back room for theorizing regarding the Star Wars world. I will admit it was Manny Jacinto’s presence that convinced me to consider watching the series, but it was the storyline of Mae & Osha, and the door this opened back up to curiosity with where we were going plot-wise that kept me watching vigilantly. The intricacies of personality that Amandla provided doing two characters was so breathtaking I was truly left wondering if it was two different people playing the characters. Jacinto deserves similar praise, providing that jarring 180 as the show progressed, emphasizing his talent as an actor.
