Be greatful you have it on Netflix to forward every now and then.
As gripping as the trailer seems, it's also revealing in how confused the central concept is.
108 chants is of Hindu origin, Satan a Christian concept and Shaitan a Muslim interpretation of it. Then there is a nod to MCU'S multiverse in the name of an evolving culture. Over all it felt like an idiots attempt at secularism.
At the risk of plot reveal- we are taken through the torturously slow journey of a family through mind control, physical and mental abuse, manipulation, coercion and finally abduction. Turns out there have been 107 such families that had suffered the same fate.
Dear review reader as long as we keep forgiving such plot holes we will be subjected such nonsense plot lines.
Here are my objections:
In this day and age of social media - the movie has no threat/record/reels of such a person And society isn't on a high alert after 107 missing girls.
Sublingual drug, given through a ladoo in this case, tunes a teenagers mind to specific persons speech... And it's not the first voice she hears... I had a "hmmmm??" moment there.
57 such cases already filed with the police but no leads, seriously? What do these film makers take our police force for?
Logistics of abducting, feeding, clothing, managing 107 menstruating girls for the span of 2-3 years - Without detection... By a mind controlling genius... Then there is the climactic tongue chop n burn, and the voice recording that frees the hypnotized. Almost sounds like a plot one could cook up over a pint of beer.
When you think the movie is over you'll get to Ajay devagan's final monologue - I almost had the urge to give a slow clap (keep in mind kikus bumper lottery style clap) and ask
" whhhhhhhhhaaaaaaayyyyyy"
