This is a wonderful well written tale of enduring young love in a time of war and broken ๐ I found it in a charity shop and had it for a while but when I finally started to read I couldn't put it down.
It is a part of WW2 I had never read about but it was worth it.

It was a welcome rest from the crime novels I normally read.
It had a heartwarming heart throughout the book. He had a family of boys who kept him and is Doctor wife busy but I loved how he engaged the weens in their surroundings.
Such a wild place to land in but the family coped well with the help of locals. A wonderful read.
